Planning to drive in Ha Giang? Make sure you meet these requirements first:

​- A valid IDP and your home country's driving licence are required. Without it, you may face fines during police checks​

- Both must include the A and/or A1 category stamp​

- The IDP must be issued under the 1968 Convention (not valid if issued under the 1949 Convention)​

- Insurance is optional but highly recommended.
